Yue joined Sovereign in 2019 and is based in Bermuda. He is responsible for leading an underwriting group that manages a portfolio of Sovereign’s key client relationships, including international banks, multilaterals, export credit agencies, commodity traders, private equity funds and corporates. Yue also leads the company’s macroeconomic research, credit risk analytics and portfolio management functions. In addition, he plays an active role in Sovereign’s marketing and business development efforts around the world, especially in Europe and the Asia Pacific. Yue is a member of Sovereign’s Management Committee.

Before joining Sovereign, Yue had 13 years of experience in political risk and credit insurance. Most recently, he served as Chief Economist for QBE Global Credit and Surety. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Deputy Head of Risk Management for the Political Risk, Credit & Bonds group at XL Catlin (now AXA XL). Yue holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan and an MBA from New York University. He is fluent in Chinese and Spanish.
