Barker Keith

Barker joined Sovereign in 2002 and is responsible for all aspects of Sovereign’s legal work. Additionally, he manages several of underwriting relationships with key clients.
Barker joined Sovereign from Shearman & Sterling where he practiced corporate and securities law in their New York, Hong Kong, and Abu Dhabi offices. While at Shearman & Sterling, Barker represented U.S. and foreign corporations and financial institutions in a variety of cross-border project finance, capital markets and restructuring transactions. Prior to becoming an attorney, Barker was an active-duty officer in the U.S. Army.
Barker received his B.A. in International Studies from American University, a M.A. in International Relations from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and a Master of Laws (in Taxation) from New York University School of Law. Barker is licensed to practice law in New York, England, and Wales. Barker grew up in Venezuela and speaks fluent Spanish.
