Matthew is responsible for handling several of Sovereign’s key banking relationships as well as developing new business and prospective clients, with a specific focus on private equity and project finance. He has significant experience working with both the political risk and non-payment products in cooperation with a diverse set of Sovereign’s clients and brokers. In addition to his underwriting responsibilities, Matthew actively represents Sovereign at marketing meetings and events.

Matthew joined Sovereign in 2012, starting as our assistant underwriter and country analyst in Bermuda before gaining underwriting authority in 2015. He is currently based in Bermuda.

Matthew graduated from James Madison University, Virginia in 2012 with a degree in International Relations and he also holds a graduate certificate in Trade Finance from Middlesex University, London.
