Richard is responsible for underwriting political risk and sovereign credit transactions for several of Sovereign’s commercial banking clients and development finance institutions. He also plays an active role in Sovereign’s macroeconomic and credit risk analysis and portfolio management functions.

Richard joined Sovereign in Bermuda in 2014 after graduating with a first-class degree in Political Science from the University of Birmingham, England. In 2019, Richard moved from Bermuda to London where, alongside Sophie Demeyer, he holds several client-facing and business development responsibilities as part of Sovereign’s permanent presence in the London Credit and Political Risk Insurance market.

Richard has a postgraduate certificate in Project Finance and an MSc in Finance and Economic Policy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London and speaks Spanish.
