Yue joined Sovereign in 2019 and is based in Bermuda. He is responsible for the underwriting of political risk and sovereign credit transactions for several of Sovereign’s key clients. Yue also plays an active role in our global political and macroeconomic risk research as well as portfolio management efforts. In addition, Yue holds marketing and business development responsibilities in Europe and Asia Pacific and leads our China-related business initiatives.

Before joining Sovereign, Yue had 13 years of underwriting and risk management experience in political risk and credit insurance. Most recently, Yue served as Chief Economist of QBE Global Credit and Surety. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Deputy Head of Risk for the Political Risk, Credit & Bonds group at XL Catlin (now AXA XL). Yue holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Michigan and a M.B.A. from New York University. He speaks fluent Chinese and Spanish.
